Welcome to my website - James R. Harris Photography. This site will give you the opportunity to view and hopefully purchase many top quality wildlife images, including Black-tailed Bucks, Black-tailed Deer Doe & Fawns, Mule Deer, Geese, Wood Ducks, Birds of Prey, Wild Rabbits, Quail, Various Birds, Bears, Turtles, Green Heron, Hummingbirds and others. Each and every photographic subject included on this site is a wild animal in an unenclosed, wild and natural habitat requiring immense quantities of stealth and patience to get close enough for good images. With Wood Ducks and big Black-tailed bucks, for example, I am often amazed at how easily I could shoot them with a gun as opposed to capturing a high quality image. Suffices to say, it takes tremendous commitment, effort, skill, patience and time to create good pictures.
If you would like an image for your home or office, the photo gallery links to the MPIX lab, which does a great job of printing, packaging and sending out or delivering. They can also provide framing and other services. If you want me to print the image for you I can do that, but for your convenience MPIX does a fantastic job.
I currently have three books available:
Black-tailed Deer of the Great Northwest which is a picture book that depicts the lives of this elusive species in a manner that is not available elsewhere. The book is available at Xlibris.com, Barnes and Noble or Amazon, but I recommend ordering it from Xlibris, because the print quality of the images is better. The book costs $41.99 soft cover or $51.99 hard cover and if you are a deer lover or a deer hunter you should have this book in your personal library.
Being Wild is a book about the work it has taken to rehabilitate and revitalize a destroyed piece of land into an award winning viable forest and wildlife habitat. Most of my images are captured on this parcel of now wonderful habitat. The book explains the Food Cycle and various overlapping Food Chains in an easy to understand manner. Included are several short stories written from the animal’s perspective to increase the reader’s understanding. This book includes many great images and is available at Xlibris.com, Barnes and Noble or Amazon, but I recommend ordering it from Xlibris, because the print quality of the images is better. The book costs $41.99 soft cover or $51.99 hard cover and is a must for any reader that wants a better understanding of how wildlife habitat really works for the animals that live on it year round or migrate through.
Rural Acreage: Finding the Right Place was written to assist buyers desiring to purchase a rural acreage, but have never done so before. I am proud to say it has already helped many, many folks in making informed purchases and better understanding the developmental obstacles before them. This book is available by emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org and costs $20.00. It will save the reader thousands of dollars in costly mistakes.
Enjoy your visit. Jim
